"Los derechos de la mujer", nuevo concurso

We are happy to announce that we are going to arrange an international cartoon contest on tOOns MaG.
Theme: Women Rights.
Deadline: 20 February 2016
Size: A4 / A3, 300 DPI.

Prizes:
1st place prize: Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch Medium and certificate.
2nd place prize: Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch Small and certificate.
3rd place Prize: Wacom Intuos Pen Small and certificate.
And an additional 7 cartoonists will receive Honorable Mention Awards certificates.
Rules:
1. Any cartoonist can participate in this contest.
2. The cartoons should be original and must not be formerly published. Copied workes are not accepted.
3. Participants may send a maximum of 5 works, in black and white or color, and preferably without text. In case of including a text, it must be in English.
4. A group of International jury will make a selection out of the submitted cartoons which are to be exhibited and published in www.toonsmag.com.
5. The International Jury members will be considered as participants in the exhibition and represent their own countries. Their names will be automatically added to the List of Participants (They will participate only in the exhibition and not contest as a part of the honorary participation).
6. Cartoons can be used for any promotion purposes (Printing, Websites, Newspapers, Calendar, Posters, Invitation cards etc.) without the permission of the cartoonist and without any payment.
7. Cartoons have to be sent to the following email address: wr@toonsmag.com
with Cartoonist’s recent C.V. , address (in doc. format) and a personal photo.
8. tOOns MaG reserves the rights to change the date or any other condition of the contest.

Xaquín Marín mira de otra manera la Navidad
Xaquín Marín ofrece una mirada crítica en su postal de bienvenida al 2016
Una vez más, con esta obra de vivos colores nos ratifica su compromiso social y polìtico, y el valor satírico del humor gráfico en la sociedad.
Con su imaginación, una línea definida y mirada cáustica llena de retranca gallega, Xaquín Marín nos entrega una lúcida e inteligente caricatura, que refleja los grandes males de nuestra sociedad y el mundo, para saludar la llegada del 2016. Mediante este magistral dibujo, de vivos colores, Xaquín nos muestra a unos reyes magos y santa claus como una especie de parapeto con sus regalos y cosificación muy propios de estas fechas, pero que no impiden ver una realidad donde aparecen hechos horribles como la tragedia de los inmigrantes, el terrorismo, la guerra, los corruptos con sus desmanes que se llevan el dinero a Suiza, la violencia machista y otros males que pululan para indefensión de los más desfavorecidos.
La postal envía irónicamenrte, en varios idiomas, el saludo de Buenas Fiestas. Como bien señala Henrique Rabañal Corgo, un seguidor de Xaquín, en su página de Facebook: “El mejor regalo es contar con tu presencia estimulante, crítica y libre”.
Lleno de vitalidad creativa, a sus 72 años, el dibujante gallego ratifica una vez más su compromiso político con las mejores causas sociales, en pos del mejoramiento humano. Su visión humorística es reconocida y aplaudida no solamente en Galicia, sino en todos los lugares donde ha llegado su obra, por su inmenso talento, por reflejar la vida misma, temas de la condición humana, y su visión crítica.

I. International KYM Cartoon Competition "REFUGEES"
Wars, conflicts, natural disasters, and oppressive regimes are causing unnamable wounds in the lives of many civilians. They are exiled from their homes and have to take shelter in safer countries. The civilians who are forced to migrate face uncountable hardships during their long journeys. And the ones managing to reach safer regions face new challenges due to various issues in the receiving countries.
Whereas, all of the challenges faced by these civilians whom we name as “refugees” may one day become the problems of everyone, it is essential to resolve these issues immediately.
In order to bring to the forefront of the global agenda, the issues of civilians, who are forced to continue their lives as “refugees,” and to raise awareness about this sensitive problem and to contribute to the solution, Kimse Yok Mu has organized a caricature competition titled “Refugees.”
We hereby invite all artists, who want to draw attention to the refugee problem with their drawings, to our caricature competition.
