Un año más, la Fecoll y Humoralia convocan la 5ª edición del Concurso Internacional de Humor Gráfico Caracolero con el apoyo y patrocionio de Viajes Iltrida. Este año, además del premio final, habrá una votación popular en esta web y la obra que resulte más votada recibirá una mención especial..

David, premiado en la Bienal de Humor y Sátira de Gabrovo

David ha obtenido, ex-aequo con el dibujante ruso Vadim Konoplyansky, el "Prize for Cartoon" otorgado por el Ministerio de Cultura de la República de Bulgaria en la 21 Bienal Internacional de Humor y Sátira en el arte de Gabrovo, 2013. En el concurso participaron 784 artistas de 44 países con 1664 trabajos, de los que fueron seleccionados 443 para la exposición de la Bienal .

UN SIGLO DE TEBEOS, por CHE


UN SIGLO DE TEBEOS

Valencia ha sido cuna de una de las importantes escuelas del tebeo de España, que en más de un siglo, ha encauzado la labor de un buen elenco de profesionales de la historieta que desarrollaron su arte principalmente en esta tierra, como fueron y son: Pertegás, Muro, Gago, Vañó, Sanchis, Palop, Serafín, Bermejo, Liceras, Karpa, Nin, Ambros, Soriano Izquierdo,  Carbó, Liceras, Macias, Brocal Remohi, González Alacreu, Ramos, Calatayud, Torres, Micharmut, Miralles, Ana Juan, Santos, Ortifus  y otros,  parte de los cuales citamos más abajo. Para dar a conocer el trabajo de estos profesionales, en fecha reciente, ha sido inaugurada una exposición retrospectiva  en la Sala Capitular de la Biblioteca Valenciana, sita en el magnifico edificio de San Miguel de los Reyes. Previa a la inauguración, en la sala de actos del centro, tuvo lugar una mesa redonda presidida por Rosario Tamarit Directora Técnica de la Biblioteca, en la que participaron los dibujantes Paco Roca, Jordi Bayarri y Salvador Larroca que hablaron del pasado, presente y futuro de la historieta y de como se desarrolla su trabajo. Actuó como moderador Ricardo Engra de la Asociación Valenciana de Cómic.

  
Larroca explicó de como había pasado de trabajar echando mano del servicio de mensajería y del fax para el envío de las páginas realizadas sobre papel, a mandarlas directamente a la Editorial -en la actualidad la americana Marvel- desde la tableta sobre la que dibuja; después la Editorial se encarga de entintar, colorear, rotular e imprimir. En este proceso el original se pierde. Cada mes remite unas 35 páginas mas las tapas, cosa que cumple a rajatabla; por ello, aparte de ser apreciado por su arte por la empresa, lo es también por su seriedad.

Bayarri trabaja en medios digitales -para tableta e incluso para móvil-, sin renunciar a los medios tradicionales. Él hace su cómic sobre papel que luego pasa al ordenador para colgarlo en Internet, lo que permite que, a los pocos minutos de terminado el tebeo, el editor lo esté leyendo. Prefiere colorear con el ordenador porque con los pinceles se entiende menos. Es muy imaginativo  y echado para adelante; como creador busca, y siempre encuentra, la forma de publicar.

Roca trabaja de forma más caótica; a él le gusta contar historias y el cómic se lo facilita; dice que con el tebeo se pueden explicar, de forma amena, cosas muy complejas. Prefiere utilizar un dibujo sencillo porque no es necesario deslumbrar al lector. Hace su trabajo a mano que pasa al ordenador de donde lo vuelve a rescatar para retocar y devolver de nuevo al ordenador de donde lo saca otra vez para colorear. Piensa que el ordenador es una herramienta más

A continuación y en el mismo salón de actos, tuvo lugar un sentido homenaje a ocho maestros, veteranos en el arte de hacer tebeos, como son o han sido: Enrique Cerdán Fuentes, Alberto Marcel Aparicio, José Ortiz Molla, Miguel Quesada Cerdán, Arturo Rojas de la Cámara, César Álvarez Cañete “Zésar”, Emilio Frejo Abejón y José Lanzón Piera (estos dos últimos fallecidos recientemente). A los homenajeados se les entregó, entre otras cosas, una placa como premio a toda una vida dedicada a la profesión, otorgada por la Asociación Valenciana del Cómic, que recogieron los interesados personalmente, a excepción de los dos últimos que fue retirada por sus familiares. Cerdán no pudo asistir al acto por lo que su placa fue retirada por Che. A toro pasado,  algunos echamos de menos el que no se hubiese encontrado la fórmula para haber agregado, en este homenaje, la figura de José Sanchis, sin duda el más importante dibujante humorístico de tebeos que ha dado esta región.

Después y con presencia de María José Catalá, Consejera de Educación, Cultura y Deportes de la Generalidad Valenciana y otras autoridades, tuvo lugar la inauguración de la exposición  que estará disponible al público hasta el 23 del próximo mes de junio. A dicha inauguración asistieron un buen número de profesionales y gentes del mundo del tebeo como son: Quesada, Ortiz, Rojas, Roca, Bayarri, Larroca, Sergio Bleda, De Haro, Marcet, Cristina Durán, Giner, Sento, Zesar, Mique Beltrán, Manel Gimeno, Fonteriz, Max Vento, Huguet, Ruizgé, Calpurnio, Pedro Martinez, M. Benet, Sebas, Verónica, R. Guillamón, Gonzalo,  Engra, Ciurana, Miguel Muñoz, Climen, Luis y Adrian Bago, Frejo, Quico, Gay, Pakole, Emilio Sanchis, los Lanzón, Che y otros. También hubo personal aficionado, público en general y medios de comunicación. “Un siglo de tebeos” es una retrospectiva de la historieta en la Comunidad Valenciana  que va desde el año 1913 hasta el actual. En ella se exhiben entre originales –cedidos por la Biblioteca, autores y coleccionistas-, tebeos, libros, revistas y otros objetos relacionados con el cómic -que se exponen en paneles y vitrinas-, unas 300 piezas que hubiesen sido muchísimas más si se hubiese dispuesto de mas espacio. La exposición ha sido organizada por la Biblioteca Valenciana y por la Asociación Valenciana de Cómic.

Llama la atención que en época de crisis como la actual, con muy pocos medios y en un tiempo record, se haya podido organizar una exposición de este calibre. Sin duda gracias al entusiasmo demostrado principalmente por Rosario Tamarit (la entrañable Charo) y Miguel Muñoz por parte de la Biblioteca Valenciana “Nicolás Primitiu” y los componentes de la Asociación Valenciana de Cómic, en especial por los comisarios Ricardo Guillamón, Gonzalo Torres y Ricardo Engra. Esta exposición quedará integrada en las II Jornadas del Cómic, organizadas por la citada Asociación, que tendrán lugar en Valencia entre el 15 al 20 de mayo próximo.

Harca, nominado en el Press Cartoon Europe


  Nuesto compañero Juli Sanchis Harca ha sido uno de los 44 nominados en el concurso Press Cartoon Europe 2013. Su obra será expuesta en el International Cartoonfestival Knokke-Heist en julio de este año.

Humor Social XIII: Premio Notario del humor para Manuel Sánchez Baena, "Man"


Este es el cartel de Subirana para la próxima edición de Humor Social, dedicado al tema de los deshaucios. La exposición estará abierta al público del 29 de abril al 31 de mayo, y la comida fraternal y entrega del Notario del Humor se anunciará proximamente, y será a primeros de mayo.
El Notario del Humor de este año ha sido concedido a Manuel Sánchez Baena "Man", que lleva más de 40 años dibujando en La Verdad de Murcia y Alicante el personaje "El Tío Pencho".

6th INTERNATIONAL CONTEST OF CARICATURE AND CARTOON OF VIANDEN

The Museum of Caricature and Cartoon of Vianden with the cooperation of Les Amis du Château de Vianden, Naturpark OUR and CartoonArt.lu are pleased to announce their 6th INTERNATIONAL CONTEST OF CARICATURE AND CARTOON OF VIANDEN
1. Subject: The egg
2. Deadline: 4thApril 2013
3. Prizes: 1st prize: 1500 € + trophy, 2nd prize: 1000 € + trophy, 3rd prize: 500 € + trophy,

4. Entries: Initially, each participant can submit up to 3 entries in digital format by sending them via internet to the following address: cartoon@caricature.eu. The author must include the following details in his or her e-mail: first name, last name, complete address, e-mail address, phone number and the title or the number of each submission. The specifications for these electronic submissions are as follows: format JPEG, good quality, and max. 1,5 MB per picture. Out of these submissions, the jury will make a selection of 60-100 drawings. Only the awarded artists will be invited to send the original work by mail. All these works will be shown as prints at the exhibition and in the catalogue. Their size should be between A4 (210x297mm) and A3 (297x420mm). The drawings must not be folded and not included in a passe-partout.
5. Technique: Free, black and white or in colour, without subtitles. The submitted drawings must be signed by the artist on the backside. Photos, collages, photocopies and coloured b&w reproductions will be not accepted.
6. Prizes and exhibition: The announcement of the prizes and honourable mentions will happen on 4th May 2013 in Castle of Vianden and the exhibition will take place in the Hall of the Knights of the Castle of Vianden from 5th May until 26th May 2013. There are plans to display the exhibits in the Museum of Caricature and Cartoon of Vianden and in other cities until end of June 2014.
7. Returns: The drawings that were awarded one of the prizes will become property of the
 rganizer.
8. Catalogue: The authors whose submissions are selected for the exhibition will receive a free catalogue by mail after end of 2014.
9. Results: The results will be published on the website www.caricature.eu on 5th May 2012. The award winners selected by the jury will be personally informed via e-mail or by phone. The final decisions of the jury are incontestable.
10. Copyright: The selected participants give the organizers permission to use their drawings only for promoting the artist and the event itself. Every other aspect of the copyright remains with the artist (except for the awarded submissions). It ensures that the awarded works can no longer be submitted in other contests or published by their authors or third parties after the official publication of the results.
11. Generalities The submitted work should not have been awarded or published before the deadline of this contest. By taking part in this contest the participants accept the abovementioned rules.

45th International Graphic Humour Exhibition "Umoristi a Marostica 2013"



The "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense" announces and organizes the 45th International Graphic Humour Exhibition "Umoristi a Marostica 2013"
Theme: EUREKA! The inventions that led to the progress of civilization.

1. The contest is open to all the cartoonists, illustrators and graphic artists from all over the world. It's possible to participate out of the competition. That request excludes the author from award of the prizes.
2. The theme of the contest is: EUREKA! The inventions that led to the progress of civilization
3. The authors can participate with a maximum of 3 works (Cartoons or Strips) inherent to the theme proposed in connection with the man, his existence and the society, seen in humorous view-point. The works, for being able to be comprised all over the world beyond every linguistic barrier, will have to be without dialogue or texts.
4. The works must be sent by email to info@umoristiamarostica.it together with the application form with all the data of the author or using the form on the site www.umoristiamarostica.it.
The works, in black/white or color made in any technique, must be in GIF, JPG, PNG or PDF, 300 dpi resolution, saved in high quality, weight max. 5 MB. Files larger will not be accepted. 5. The deadline for works reception is March 18, 2013.

6. The authors selected by the jury will have to send the original works or digital prints numbered and signed. Photocopies are not accepted.
The works must be sent (postage paid by the sender and without frames or glass), by April 15, 2013 to the following address:

7. The acceptance of the works, the selection, and the assigning of the prizes are completely up to the Jury nominated by Artistic Direction and "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense". The Jury's decisions are final.

The opening ceremony and the prize distribution will have place on May 11, 2013 at Castello Inferiore of Marostica. The exhibition will remain opened until june 16, 2013.
11. All the authors selected will receive a free copy of catalogue.
All the other participants not selected will be able to demand the catalogue compiling the module on the site www.umoristiamarostica.it 12. The prize-winning works will not be returned and will be included in the collection of "Umoristi a Marostica Museum".
13. The "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense" reserves the right to authorize the reproduction of the work citing the author with the words "Taken from Umoristi a Marostica", without any payment. The "Gruppo Grafico Marosticense" is not responsible for transport damages.
14. The participation in the contest implies the complete acceptance of all the conditions and rules from the author.
