International Tourism Cartoon Competition-2014

International Tourism Cartoon Competition is held with the cooperation of Association of Tourism Writers and Journalists (TUYED) and Anatolia: A Journal of Tourism Research. The objective of the competition, which was first held in 2009, is to examine tourism, which is one of the biggest sectors in the world, with its various dimensions. Also, the competition aims to put forward cartoonists’ aspects in terms of travelling population’s experiences and relations during their travel. In this respect, the main objective of this competition is to assess such topics, developments and experiences within the tourism industry as accomodation, transportation, food and beverage, recreation, sightseeing, museums, envirenment, tourist-resident relationships, from cartoonists’ point of view.

Competition is held annually and is open to all cartoonists from all over the world, both amateur and professional. Nearly 130 submitted works which get to the final elimination take place in the Cartoon Book. The reward ceremony of the present competition will be held in Antalya, Turkey.

Theme

---

The theme of the competition in 2014 is all-inclusive holiday.

Every topic interested in all-inclusive holiday can be selected in cartoon drawings.

An all-inclusive holiday is a tour that is arranged by a travel agent; where transportation, food and lodging are all provided at a price which is inclusive for all the charges and services offered. An all-inclusive holiday includes a minimum of three meals daily, soft drinks, most alcoholic drinks, gratuities, and possibly other services included in the price. The following items are included in most of all-inclusive holiday prices.

·         Airfare,

·         Airport transfers,

·         Accommodations,

·         Meals (breakfast, buffet and dining room),

·         Nightly entertainment, pools,

·         Beverages, including soft drinks, bottled water and alcohol,

·         Spa services.

Cartoons will be accepted in two sections:

Category of Adult Cartoonists: This category is open for the all of cartoonists who are 17 and older. Category should be noted when cartoons are submitting. Grand award, second award, third award, Professor Atila Özer recognition award and five mansions will be given in this section. Finalist cartoons in this section will be published in the album.

Category of Young Cartoonists: This category is open for the cartoonists who are 16 and younger. Category should be noted when cartoons are submitting. Grand award and six achievement awards will be given in this section. Finalist cartoons in this section will be published in the album.

Submission Guidelines

---

• The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists.
• Each performer is allowed to submit maximum three works.
• The cartoons submitted to the competition may be prepared as original drawings, digital printings or computer printouts. The drawing technique is open-ended. Drawings may be colorful or black and white. On the other hand, performers are required to put signatures on their drawings.
• Participants must write their names, surnames and addresses behind their drawings. Also, they must complete the Participant Information Form placed under submission page and send it together with their drawings.
• Cartoons sent may be of the ones previously published somewhere but previously awarded cartoons are not allowed to submit.
• Cartoons submitted for selection will be able to be printed in Anatolia: A Journal of Tourism Research and Association of Tourism Writers and Journalists and in other printed materials of this organization such as books, catalogs, brochures, postcards, web sites and posters. All rights for any other publishing except these belong to the owner of drawing.
• The cartoons that will be selected after the first evulation will be announced between February 1 and 10, 2015. The objections will took into account between Februrary 1 and 10, 2015.
• Finalist cartoons will be published in the album. Cartoonists whose drawings published in this album will be sent a copy of the album.
• Regardless of award-winning or taking place in the album, all the cartoons submitted for selection will not be returned.
• All the cartoonists participated in the competition are implied to agree on the conditions and regulations of the competition.
• Cartoons can be sent by way of postal service or Cartoon Submission system.
• Submission deadline is 31 December 2014.

Evaluation Declarations

---

1.    Works submitted to the competition will be evaluated in two stages.

2.    In the first stage, all the works will be pre-evaluated at a meeting held by Pre-Evaluation Selection Committee members. At the end of this meeting, finalist works will be determined. No more than 1/5 of the works submitted to the competition will be taken for further evaluation.

3.    Before continuing with the second stage, finalist works will be announced on the internet between 1st and 10th February 2015. Similar and copy works, plagiarism, previously awarded works, and other objections will be decided by the Pre-Evaluation Selection Committee members and due to the reasonable objections, on which the committee will reach a consensus, related works will be eliminated.

4.    At the second stage, finalist works will be re-evaluated by Final Selection Committee Members. This time, evaluation will be done in two sub-stages. In the first stage, the number of finalist woks will be reduced to 45-50 and, in the last stage, winners will be determined.

5.    Evaluation of the submitted works will be done based on three critical issues mentioned below.

·         Selection and convenience of the topic,

·         Quality of humor,

·         Originality of drawing.

La publicación humorística Melaíto y la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de
Cuba (Uneac) en Villa Clara, convocan al XIV Salón Internacional de

Canadá como país invitado.

Las categorías a concursar serán: humor general y humor erótico. Las
dimensiones de las obras pueden llegar hasta 25 x 35 cm como tamaño
máximo, en cualquier técnica y soporte, incluidas copias impresas de
trabajos digitales, las obras tridimensionales  no rebasarán los 50 x

COMUNICADO DA DIRECÇÃO DO WORLD PRESS CARTOON

O World Press Cartoon enfrenta em 2014 o desafio mais grave da sua história. À última hora, quando o processo de selecção já estava em marcha, o Município de Sintra decidiu unilateralmente denunciar os acordos estabelecidos para a montagem da exposição de 2014, bem como da respectiva cerimónia de entrega de prémios.Em conformidade, foi necessário adiar a reunião do júri para o mês de Junho. Não foi, no entanto, viável encontrar neste prazo um local alternativo e um novo patrocinador para o evento de 2014.

Porque o júri reuniu e procedeu à selecção dos premiados, a Direcção do World Press Cartoon decidiu honrar os compromissos assumidos pela organização junto dos autores. Os cartoonistas premiados receberão os seus prémios mas, lamentavelmente, não foi possível reunir os meios financeiros necessários para suportar os custos elevados de edição do nosso catálogo anual.

Como é tradição, publicamos neste website o conjunto completo de cartoons premiados, bem como todos os trabalhos que haviam sido seleccionados para a exposição principal. Os originais serão devolvidos aos autores cuja participação respeitou as normas do regulamento.

Continuamos a trabalhar em várias frentes para encontrar alternativas para as futuras edições do World Press Cartoon. Contamos com o vosso apoio para manter vivo o World Press Cartoon!

WORLD PRESS CARTOON BOARD OF DIRECTORS ANNOUNCEMENT

World Press Cartoon faces in 2014 the most dramatic challenge of its history. At the last minute, when the selection process was already on track, the Municipality of Sintra unilaterally decided to break the agreements established for the organization of the 2014 exhibition and awards ceremony. The jury meeting was postponed until June, and in the meantime it was not possible to find an alternative location and main sponsor for the 2014 event. The jury meeting proceeded, anyway, with the awards selection and, accordingly, the board of directors of World Press Cartoon decided to pay the money prizes to the winners. Unfortunately, we did not found the minimum financial support to publish the annual catalogue.

You will find in this website a complete set of the winning cartoons as well as the others selected for the main exhibition. And all originals will be returned to the authors that were in conformity with the rules. We are still working at different levels to find alternatives for the future editions and we go on struggling to keep World Press Cartoon alive!

FECO felicita al Doctor Forges

Nuestro colega y amigo Forges fue investido Doctor Honoris Causa por la Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche durante el acto de inauguración del curso académico el pasado viernes, 3 de octubre, a las 12:00 horas, en el Salón de Actos del edificio Rectorado y Consejo Social del campus de Elche. 

Al acto, presidido por el rector de la UMH, Jesús Pastor Ciurana, el presidente del Consejo Social, Francisco Borja Miralles, la secretaria general de la UMH, Mercedes Sánchez Castillo, el director general de Universidad, Estudios Superiores y Ciencia, Felipe Palau Ramírez, y el rector de la Universidad Jaume I y presidente de la Conferencia de Rectores de las Universidades Valencianas (CRUV), Vicent Climent Jordà, asistió también nuestro colega Enrique, mandamás de FECO España, y humorista gráfico del diario Información, así como diversas personalidades del mundo político, social y cultural de la provincia.

El profesor y director de Comunicación de la UMH, José Juan López Espín, fué el padrino de Antonio Fraguas de Pablo durante el acto de investidura como Doctor Honoris Causa.

Los compañeros de FECO nos sumamos a la algarabía general, aplaudimos y felicitamos a Forges, y nos congratulamos de saber que, tal y como está la Seguridad Social, tenemos a un compañero que es doctor y nos podrá recetar pastillas para la tos y supositorios para el mal aliento.

El Rector de la Universidad de Alcalá y el Alcalde de Alcalá de Henares tienen el honor de invitarle a la inauguración de la XXI Muestra Internacional de las Artes del Humor, con las exposiciones "Humor gota a gota" y "Reinterpretando a Quino. 

El acto contará con una representación de los componentes de Mongolia.

Están permitidas todas las técnicas gráficas, también trabaja en 3-D. Las obras digitales se imprimen preferentemente por el participante, para que pueda presentar ante el jurado como una calidad sufi ciente. Las obras no pueden haber sido publicados o expuestos a otras oportunidades. 3 Las obras se enviarán a la siguiente dirección: EURO-Kartoenale WAREGEMSESTEENWEG 113 KRUISHOUTEM 9770 - Bélgica contest2015@ecc-kruishoutem.be Nuestro sitio le informará si sus obras han llegado. RICARDO RENDÓN

El más destacado caricaturista Colombiano nacido en Rionegro - Antioquia (1894 - 1931), llamado " El Emperador" de la Caricatura.

Uno de los más perspicaces y finos humoristas latinoamericanos del siglo XX, en su obra el humor fue sátira, se caracterizó especialmente por la caricatura política.

Sus caricaturas eran verdaderas radiografías de los hechos y de los individuos.  Fue pionero de la publicidad gráfica en Colombia.

FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CARICATURA  "Ricardo Rendón”

Apoyado por la Administración Municipal de Rionegro duranteveinte años consecutivos en homenaje a Ricardo Rendón Bravo.

El Festival, único en la historia del país por su trayectoria y continuidad; ha permitido mirar la percepción de autores de más de 90 países, protagonistas de los cambios y vivencias de los pueblos que con el mismo humor aportan al crecimiento de la humanidad.

El pensamiento risueño y su idioma universal, con la Caricatura logramos el sueño y el anhelo universal de borrar fronteras tanto territoriales como ideológicas que nos impiden vivir en armonía y visualizar la luz de la libertad como principio de paz y convivencia.

LAS CONDICIONES:

1)   El Concurso está abierto a todos los caricaturistas del  mundo.

2)   El último día para la participación en el concurso es el Viernes 30 de Septiembre de 2014.

3)   El Tema del concurso es : GABRIEL GARCÍA MÁRQUEZ “Gabo” :  Escritor colombiano, Premio Nóbel de Literatura.

4)   Cada participante puede presentar en el concurso un máximo de tres caricaturas.

5)   Se puede participar con caricaturas en blanco y negro o en color.

6)   Sólo se debe participar por correo electrónico acontestgabo@gmail.com

7)   Las caricaturas enviadas han de tener una resolución mínima de 300 DPI Formato JPG.

8)   También se puede participar en el concurso con caricaturas que ya hayan sido publicadas o premiadas con anterioridad, todas las caricaturas presentadas deberán ser originales.

9)   Los participantes han de enviar un breve currículum vitae y una fotografía junto con sus obras.

    10) Los Caricaturistas seleccionados recibirán un catálogo.

    11) El jurado estará compuesto por caricaturistas Colombianos y  extranjeros.

    12) Los resultados se anunciarán en el mes de Noviembre de 2014.

    13) Las caricaturas presentadas en el concurso no serán devueltas.

    14) Gran premio al mejor trabajo: $  2.000.000 Dos millones de pesos.

    15) Premio IDEA a la mejor obra de artista Antioqueño  $ 1.000.000 Un millón de pesos.

    16) El ganador será anunciado en la Ceremonia Inaugural del 21º Festival Internacional de Caricatura

          el día viernes 3 de octubre en el Centro cultural del municipio.

    17) La organización se reserva el derecho de exhibir aquellas obras que entienda puedan atentar

          contra derechos individuales o colectivos.

    18) La Participación en el concurso supone la aceptación íntegra y sin reservas de estas condiciones.
